"We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give."

   by: Joeborgz

All of us have a thousand wishes in our daily lives. To be thinner, to be bigger, have more money & abundance in life, have a cool car, a day off, a new phone and a high tech gadgets, to date the person to whom of your dreams. However there are a lot handful of the misfortunate people and children around the world whom their only wishes is to live to and to see tomorrow or to see another days to come. Sometimes the beauty of life does not comes in seeing what we have but rather what we can give from our hearts.

The Epsilonians in Singapore are working together driving a charity drive to collect some school supplies/stationary and clothing for the children in a local orphanage in Batam. Last year month of July & Sept., the Group are managed to discussed with the school principal and the staff regarding the distribution of the charity to help them of giving a little more to help the children to have a better learning environment.

We would like to inform all Epsilonians in Singapore to refrain or spare your extra time and effort during the charity drive to be schedule around in Nov. 2011 or Jan. 2012 we will be collecting any form of stationary, foods stuff that you would like to give away or any children clothing. We are welcome to anybody from our friends and relatives for those who wanted to join our program.
SAE Singapore would avoid any physical cash donation due to the nature sensitivity and trust. However, if there is any amount that you would like to chip in, we will be presenting you with a translated receipt, on where the money is spend on and a thank you letter from the principal of the school as proof. SAE Singapore will be leaving for Batam, Indonesia this coming JAN. 28 & 29, 2012 for the distribution of our materials. We hope to get as much support as we can from SAEsg in this drive.

We hereby wish to thank you for your kind donation or any assistance in spreading the news around and hope that we can gather the necessary for the kids.

Please Handover to our AGE & DGE all the amounts or any donations assistance, small amount is a very great help for them. God Bless us all.

Thank you all...............

Top 10 Highest Paid Government Leaders

Top 10 Highest Paid Government Leaders

investopedia
, On Wednesday 19 October 2011, 0:28 SGT

You may think that those wishing to suffer extreme public scrutiny while making decisions that affect millions of citizens would demand the big bucks, but when it comes to pay, many world leaders look like chumps compared to the CEOs of many corporations. While most salaries pale in comparison to the likes of Warren Buffett's, some are downright huge when compared to the people a leader may govern.

Top 10 Political Leader's Salary by Country (2010):

1. Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore): $2,183,516
2. Donald Tsang (Hong Kong): $513,245
3. Raila Odinga (Kenya): $427,886
4. Barack Obama (United States): $400,000
5. Nicolas Sarkozy (France): $302,435
6. Stephen Harper (Canada): $296,400
7. Mary McAleese (Ireland): $287,900
8. Julia Gillard (Australia): $286,752
9. Angela Merkel (Germany): $283,608
10. Yoshihiko Noda (Japan): $273,676

Salary Compared to GDP

What makes a world leader's pay reasonable or outlandish? One way of making this call is by looking at pay compared to a country's GDP per person at purchasing power parity (PPP). Using PPP helps make a better estimate of just how far money goes in a country, since the cost of living will vary from country to country. Comparing each leader's salary (in international dollars) to the IMF's 2010 PPP figures shows how much more a world leader makes compared to an average joe at home.
1. Raila Odinga (Kenya): 255.30
2. Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore): 38.51
3. Donald Tsang (Hong Kong): 11.17
4. Nicolas Sarkozy (France): 8.92
5. Barack Obama (United States): 8.54
6. Yoshihiko Noda (Japan): 8.08
7. Angela Merkel (Germany): 7.86
8. Stephen Harper (Canada): 7.57
9. Mary McAleese (Ireland): 7.29
10. Julia Gillard (Australia): 7.21
What do these numbers mean? Looking at GDP per person doesn't show how a country stacks up in terms of income inequality, a statistic that can measured using the Gini coefficient. Ranking the leaders by their country's income inequality can really show how far out of touch a leader is with those governed. The Gini coefficient changes things up (zero means perfect equality and one perfect inequality).
1. Donald Tsang (Hong Kong): 0.434
2. Raila Odinga (Kenya): 0.425
3. Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore): 0.425
4. Barack Obama (United States): 0.408
5. Julia Gillard (Australia): 0.352
6. Mary McAleese (Ireland): 0.343
7. Nicolas Sarkozy (France): 0.327
8. Stephen Harper (Canada): 0.326
9. Angela Merkel (Germany): 0.283
10. Yoshihiko Noda (Japan): 0.249

Base Salary Vs. Perks
When it comes to what a leader is really paid, a distinction must be made between base salary and additional stipends. Leaders may receive free residences or residential stipends, free healthcare, free travel and other perks. They may be permitted expenses that most people would have to pay for out of pocket. Those figures are more difficult to come by, especially in the murky world of political influence.
Less scrupulous world leaders may pad their own bank accounts with their own country's money through corruption. "Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)," first released in 1995, tracks corruption trends in 178 countries. It assigns a rank of 10 to countries deemed clean, and zero to countries considered highly corrupt. Ranking the leaders by how corrupt their countries are, the ranking shifts to the following:
1. Raila Odinga (Kenya): 2.1
2. Nicolas Sarkozy (France): 6.8
3. Barack Obama (United States): 7.1
4. Yoshihiko Noda (Japan): 7.8
5. Angela Merkel (Germany): 7.9
6. Mary McAleese (Ireland): 8
7. Donald Tsang (Hong Kong): 8.4
8. Julia Gillard (Australia): 8.7
9. Stephen Harper (Canada): 8.9
10. Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore): 9.3
Of these countries, only three would not be considered "full democracies" by the "Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index:" Kenya, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Bottom Line
What do all of these numbers tell us? Leaders of advanced economies earn very similar salaries to each other, and those countries tend to be less corrupt and more democratic. While Lee Hsien Loong may earn 38 times the average resident of Singapore, his country is considered a good place to do business even if it is not fully democratic. On the other end of the spectrum, Raila Odinga earns an incredible amount more than the people he governs, and presides over a country that Transparency International would consider one of the most corrupt around (ranked 154 out of 178 countries).

Batam, INDONESIA

The Journey of Brod. Domz and Brod. Matt - Batam, INDONESIA

In Singapore and the rest of the World we are all engulfed by the ideas of what our kids are equip & their daily lives compared are those are not fortunate Children with no parents taking care of them before they goes to school. But in the countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma &
The Philippines and other remote areas etc. Kids goes to school without even a proper set  of school uniform. SAESG Charity Project 2011 are headed by Matt Sardua & Jhune Heso and the rest of Epsilonians in Singapore. Last July 3, 2011 SAE Singapore  managed to visit in Batam, Indonesia looking for the Orphanage center and the purpose to help the less fortunate children and collect some fund to assist in refurbishing a local school in the town of Batam. This year, we intend to get some Stationary, Clothing & Food for children in the other Orphanage.

SAE Singapore we are asking your kind donation of any used child clothing and stationary to help in our drive to help the children. SAE Singapore will prefer stationary or clothing as We highly opposed to give any cash donation due to the trust issue that might arise when handling physical cash.

I have attached some image of the Children in Orphanage at the town of Batam that we have taken last Saturday Oct. 15, 2011 during the visit of Matt & Domz with the help of Robin and his wife as our key role also of the project our official  translator from Malay to English version.

Over 100 dead after Philippine Typhoons

Over 100 dead after Philippine typhoons

Philippine authorities said Sunday the death toll from two typhoons that pummelled the country two weeks ago had reached 101, with tens of thousands of people still displaced by massive flooding.
Typhoon Nesat, which struck the main island of Luzon's low-lying agricultural plains, left 82 dead in its wake, while Typhoon Nalgae -- which hit five days later -- killed 19, the Office of Civil Defence said.
Most of those killed fell victim to floods that swept through Luzon's farming towns, while the remainder were either electrocuted by fallen power lines or crushed by debris and landslides.
Twenty-seven remain missing, raising the prospect that the death toll could still rise.
More than 67,000 people remain in evacuation centres across more than 40 provinces in Luzon, most of them in low-lying agricultural areas where rivers and tributaries overflowed with heavy rains.
Social work secretary Corazon Soliman said those displaced were being served in 78 evacuation centres, although tens of thousands more still needed help after deciding to return home to houses still immersed in waist-deep water.
"Affected families are now going home to start anew. Consequently, we are now preparing for their rehabilitation on top of the relief assistance being provided to those still in evacuation centres," Soliman said in a statement.
Officials estimated Saturday that waist-deep floods in several Luzon towns would likely persist for one more month, with an area of low pressure hovering over the country continuing to bring rain.

To confess our sins of IDOLATRY to the Lord and renounce them too is very proper, so that in this world we'll be a lot safer (ref: 2Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 32:5, Proverbs 28:13, Acts 2:38-39, 3:19-20, James 5:16). (=_=) (^_^)

Finally resurfacing on TV nine days after the first typhoon struck, PNoy explained..."you see there's an 'industry' of critics working against me, but my conscience is clear". To which GMA answered "you can say that again,..and mine is even bigger than an industry, it's the entire government, but just as bit as annoying". Moral of the story: "What goes around, comes around".
